Frequently Asked Questions (as I imagine them)
1. Why travel with Rick Steves?
John and I are confident travelers, so it wasn't that we were scared...it was because we were busy! Being able to book a trip that visited multiple countries without having to spend hours upon hours researching hotels, worrying about train schedules, and stressing about keeping track of reservations was worth every single penny we paid--and more. I had studied abroad and traveled Europe independently before, but often ran into elements of uncertainty--missed trains, missing luggage, and even a missing/nonexistent hostel! We knew with Rick none of these things would be a worry. In fact, we are 100% honest when we tell people our entire two weeks in Europe were completely stress-free! If that doesn't give you reason enough to travel with Rick Steves, I don't know what will!
...Actually, there might be one other thing that should convince you: friendship. With a "no grumps" policy and people from all over the country, on a Rick Steves trip you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with all sorts of new people, both fellow travelers and locals. Relationships that started as obligatory daily "buddy checks" became true friendships. Tim Cahill is credited with saying that "a journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles," and whichever way you choose to analyze our Rick Steves: My Way tour, it measures off the charts.
